Inspiration

After perfume, a candle is a way of experiencing a scent on a daily basis: enter a room, close your eyes and inhale it slowly for the pleasure it brings. With this No. 6 candle, named after the number 6 on Budapest Street in Paris, Marc-Antoine Barrois wanted to fill his Maison de Couture with the olfactory memories of his childhood: memories of a large house where his grandfather's elegance predominated in the leather scent of a precious briefcase or other suitcases. The cosy atmosphere of an afternoon spent with the family in the living room by the fireplace, with a few delicate scents here and there coming from the kitchen, where a snack was being prepared.

To impregnate the entire Maison de Couture MARC-ANTOINE BARROIS, located at 6 rue de Budapest in Paris, perfumer Quentin Bisch once again delved into the designer's universe. He worked around the same structure of leather, wood and spices, adding notes of amber and softening with smoky notes to create a scented candle that reflects his taste for refined materials. This candle has the generous complexity of leather interwoven with the warmth of balsams, a signature where patchouli acquires the refined sensuality of amber to emphasise the discreet appeal of the MARC-ANTOINE BARROIS boutique. A leathery atmosphere, at once dense and enveloping, accentuated by the golden lights of labdanum. A cosy scent that shimmers and intertwines with the spicy notes of cumin and saffron. There's also a fruity hint of peach and plum, which illuminates this harmony of amber and wood combined with sandalwood and patchouli.

For our candles, we chose a 60% natural wax and 40% mineral wax, free from palm oil and genetically modified organisms, to get the best out of both waxes: the natural wax releases more fragrance when cold and the mineral wax when hot. What's more, this mixture significantly reduces soot emissions. Finally, the cotton wicks have been sized to allow the candle to burn evenly.
