INSPIRATION

Once upon a time in the old country, a king known to his people as just and benevolent, faced what seemed an insurmountable difficulty. His only daughter, beautiful and intelligent beyond her years, needed a husband. The king decreed that all men with a house and trade should visit his castle and present themselves to the princess. After many months of eligible men presenting themselves, a young farmer entered the maiden's hall only to be greeted with jeers and looks of admiration at the state of his attire. As he crossed the great hall and arrived in front of the princess, this one placed a dirty old stone at her feet. Then he bowed to the princess and, with an enigmatic smile, left the hall without looking at anyone - to the surprise and amazement of the princess and all present.
